Debbie Gilbert, artistic director, holds a B.M.E. from Louisiana State University and has taught private flute lessons to youth and adults for over 20 years.
She is currently the principal flutist with the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra and directs flute choirs at both Fauquier and Liberty High Schools.
From 1991-1999 she was the founder and director of The Fauquier Flute Ensemble (an all adult group) and from 1996-2004 served as the music director at Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church.
She has been a five time winner in the National Flute Association's annual Professional Flute Choir Competition and performed with that group at the San Diego, New Orleans, Boston, Orlando and New York conventions.
In 2004 she directed the Mid-Atlantic High School Flute Choir for the Flute Society of Washington and currently serves on the board of directors.
Debbie has studied with Max Schoenfeld, Jeanne Timm, Thomas Perazolli, Toshiko Kohno and Tadeu Coelho.
